Are we in trouble?&#8221;<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">If\u00a0you&#8217;ve\u00a0just brought a new employee on board and realized you\u00a0didn&#8217;t\u00a0stamp the contract,\u00a0don&#8217;t\u00a0worry.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Here&#8217;s the upside: LHDN has introduced a <strong data-start=\"1320\" data-end=\"1372\">transitional grace period until 31 December 2025<\/strong> to support the shift to the <strong data-start=\"1401\" data-end=\"1448\">Self-Assessment System (SAS) for stamp duty<\/strong><\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Employment contracts signed before January 1, 2025 may qualify for <strong data-start=\"871\" data-end=\"920\">stamp duty remission (no penalty and no duty)<\/strong>, provided they are stamped within the special grace period set by LHDN.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">But this exemption window will close soon.\u00a0Let&#8217;s\u00a0go over what this rule means why\u00a0it&#8217;s\u00a0important, and what employers need to do now to comply.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1s8g2tm\" data-start=\"1621\" data-end=\"1684\"><strong>Stamp Duty Self-Assessment (Effective 2026)<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n<p data-section-id=\"1s8g2tm\" data-start=\"1621\" data-end=\"1684\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.0625rem\">Starting January 1, 2026, Malaysia will fully implement the <\/span>Stamp Duty Self-Assessment System (SDSAS)<span style=\"font-size: 1.0625rem\">.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p data-start=\"1803\" data-section-id=\"71gtg8\" data-start=\"1919\" data-end=\"1966\">\r\n<p data-start=\"1921\" data-end=\"1966\">No reliance on adjudication before stamping<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li data-section-id=\"zraif3\" data-start=\"1969\" data-end=\"2011\">\r\n<p data-start=\"1971\" data-end=\"2011\"><strong data-start=\"1971\" data-end=\"2009\">Strict 30-day deadline
